Patsy Bland – Coats for Kids
Patsy has an awesome group helping her this year with the barrels around town.  She could still use a couple of runners to help fill request.  If you would like to help Patsy please contact her here.

Bobbi Kelley – Children’s Christmas Decorations
We have a booth at the Christmas Festival of Trees in December.  Bobbi is looking for volunteers to help her assist kids with making Christmas ornaments.  This is a new treat for our Club; kids, Christmas, and fun – what else could be asking for.  If you can help Bobbi please contact here.

YSS Committee (Youth Support Services)
Jenny Everton is busy helping the kids in the community.  She has been working with Bridge Academy (the Alternate Middle School for 12-15 year olds) in filling request.  The YSS program helps kids in our community in many ways; school supplies, clothing, bedding, anything kids and their families may need to have a safer and better life.

Membership plans for the new Optimist year

Membership Chair Barry Knoblich inducted a new member into the Twin Falls Optimist Club at this week's meeting. Welcome to Clancy Carter!

Barry also talked about the membership program for the new year, many opportunities to bring in new members, retain our membership and to just have  "MORE FUN WITH 101”.  Our membership is at 71 members as of October 1, 2010 and our goal is to have 101 members by the end of the year, or as Barry stated by April 2011.  Barry is very optimistic and will achieve “our” goal.  To learn more about Barry’s membership program, join him at our weekly meetings.  His process includes:

Membership Retention – a survey was sent out to the membership with the annual dues billings.  If you have not turned yours in, please do so as soon as you can.

Past Optimist Members – will be contacting members we have not seen lately and invite them to lunch.
Torch Carriers - Barry will be looking at our members and new members (he says that don’t have gray hair) to carry the youth activities in the future and bring new ideas to the Club.

Business Partners – Develop a listing of business’s that currently support the club, but don’t have a member representing them.  We want to thank then and ask them to support us with paying dues and lunch if we can get an employee to join the Optimists.

Spanish Members – We have a large population of kids in our community that we are not serving well.  We want to know their needs and members that can communicate with this group of kids and their families.

And the newest category…”the family plan” Example – Keleigh, Kevin and Kim…do I need to say anymore!

Barry is also working on an Invitation Lunch – inviting out existing members and asking them to invite a possible new member.
